These Terms set out the agreement between you and EPAY GROUP (PTY) LTD trading as E Pay Global ("E Pay Global", "we", "us"), registration number 2014/227733/07, in respect of digital vouchers sold on epayglobal.co.za (the "Website").
1. About us and these Terms
E Pay Global sells prepaid digital vouchers to customers in South Africa. By placing an order on the Website you accept these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Delivery Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Website.
2. Complete description of the products we sell
We sell prepaid digital vouchers denominated in South African Rand. The following describes the product in full:
- What it is: a prepaid digital voucher carrying a fixed monetary value, issued electronically as a unique voucher code/PIN. It is a digital good — there is no physical product and nothing is shipped.
- Available values: vouchers are sold in set Rand denominations (currently R50, R100, R250, R500 and R1 000), each priced at face value in ZAR.
- Where it can be used: a voucher may be redeemed toward online payments at E Pay Global and at participating partner merchants that accept E Pay vouchers. It is a closed-loop voucher: it is single-use, is not reloadable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or withdrawn.
- Validity: each voucher is valid for 36 months from the date of issue, after which any unused value expires unless the law requires otherwise.
- Technical requirements: none beyond internet access and a device with a web browser. There are no regional/voltage or hardware considerations, as the product is purely digital.
2a. Export and legal restrictions
E Pay Global vouchers are sold to customers in South Africa for use in South African Rand. There are no known export restrictions applicable to this digital product. You may not purchase or use a voucher where doing so would be unlawful in your jurisdiction.
3. Prices and currency
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR). The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa.
3a. Payment in advance
Payment is required in advance. Your voucher is issued only after your payment has been received and confirmed in full. No goods are supplied on credit.
3b. How long prices remain valid
Prices shown on the Website are valid only for the duration of your checkout session and may change at any time before an order is placed. The price applied to your order is the price displayed at the moment you confirm and pay.
4. Payment options accepted
Payment may be made by Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, processed through Payfast. Where offered, payment may also be made by electronic funds transfer (EFT) through Payfast's supported methods.
5. Card acquiring and security
Card transactions are acquired for E Pay Global via Payfast (Pty) Ltd, who are an approved payment gateway for South African acquiring banks. Payfast uses secure encryption (SSL), and no card details are stored on the Website. You may visit payfast.io to view their security certificate and security policy.
6. Customer details separate from card details
Customer details are stored by E Pay Global separately from card details, which are entered by you on Payfast's secure site. For more detail on Payfast, refer to payfast.io.
7. Country of operation and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. The transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
8. Delivery
Vouchers are digital goods and are delivered electronically — by email and SMS — to the contact details supplied at checkout, normally within minutes of payment confirmation. Full details are set out in our Delivery Policy.
9. Refunds and cancellation
The provision of vouchers is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, E Pay Global will refund you in full within 30 days. Where a voucher has not been redeemed, you may request a refund of the value paid, less a 5% deduction to recover the non-recoverable payment-processing and voucher-issuance costs already incurred on the transaction. Once a voucher has been redeemed, in whole or in part, it cannot be refunded. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
10. Responsibility
E Pay Global takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction, including the sale of the vouchers sold on this Website, customer service and support, dispute resolution, and delivery of the vouchers.
11. Acceptable use
You may not use the Website or any voucher for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering, or any activity prohibited by South African law or by the card scheme rules. We may suspend or cancel a voucher we reasonably believe has been obtained or used unlawfully.
12. Privacy
We process your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and domicilium
This Website and these Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. E Pay Global chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi (address for the service of legal notices and documents) the following address:
